Building of Pavilion for Ugboju District

Amb Akoh Foundation Builds Modern Pavilion to Promote Culture and Community Development in Ugboju District

Charity, they say, begins at home. Guided by this timeless principle, the Amb Akoh Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots development through the construction of a modern pavilion and public square for Ugboju District in Benue State.

Ugboju District is the hometown of Dr Dickson Akoh, Founder and President of the Amb Akoh Foundation. The project reflects his enduring dedication to giving back to his roots while strengthening social cohesion and cultural preservation within the community.

A Boost to Cultural and Social Activities

Prior to the intervention of the Foundation, major cultural events—most notably the annual Ugboju Ejalekwu Festival—were traditionally held under trees, limiting comfort, organization, and participation. The newly constructed pavilion now provides a dignified, safe, and functional venue for cultural celebrations, town meetings, and other community activities.

The pavilion has already proven to be a major boost to the Ejalekwu Festival, enhancing its visual appeal, organization, and capacity to host dignitaries, guests, and indigenes from across Nigeria and beyond.

Preserving Culture, Strengthening Community

Beyond serving as an event venue, the pavilion stands as a symbol of unity, identity, and cultural continuity for the people of Ugboju District. It supports the transmission of cultural values from one generation to another while providing a central space for dialogue, celebration, and collective progress.

Development as a Core Mission

The Amb Akoh Foundation remains firmly committed to the holistic development of Ugboju District and its environs. From cultural infrastructure to security, youth empowerment, and social welfare, the Foundation continues to place the development of the land and the well-being of its people at the heart of its mission.

Indeed, the development of the land remains our focus—because strong communities are built where culture, unity, and progress thrive together.
